Warren opening citizens’ police awareness program

WARREN

The fall class of the Citizens’ Police Awareness Academy will begin Nov. 8 and run for eight consecutive weeks (breaks for holidays) and cover “a day in the life of a police officer.” Some of the classes include a Trumbull County Jail tour, Warren police ride-along, and FATS training (simulated use of a firearm by police officers).

The class teaches members of the public to be the “eyes and ears” of the police department.

Space is available for more participants. Anyone interested must apply by Wednesday to Officer Geoff Fusco at the Warren Police Department, 141 South Street, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications will be taken also for future classes. For more information, call 330-841-2788.
