Artist-musician in free lecture

YOUNGSTOWN

Ali Momeni, a cutting-edge artist and composer, will present a free public lecture at 4 p.m. Tuesday in room 3000 of Bliss Hall on the Youngstown State University campus.

Momeni’s creative output ranges from kinetic sculptures and sound installations, to urban interventions and music theater performance.

A native of Iran, he emigrated to the United States at age 12. He holds a doctoral degree in music composition, improvisation and performance with computers from the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies at University of California-Berkeley.

Momeni teaches in the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University.
