Kravitz Delicatessen and Grow Youngstown will host a Harvest Fest from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 11. The event will be hosted at Kravitz Delicatessen, 3135 Belmont Ave., and Kravitz’s chef Debbie Mirkin will prepare a menu of traditional foods using produce from local urban gardens and rural farms. The menu will include locally grown foods sourced by Grow Youngstown, including beets from the Fairgreen Neighborhood Garden, brussels sprouts from Jubilee Gardens and locally produced beer. Admission is $5. Local band Brady’s Leap will perform from 3 to 7 p.m. For information on the Harvest Fest, go to www.growyoungstown.org.

Benefit planned

Reservations are now being accepted for Dining For Good Living, a dinner and wine event that benefits the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County. The shelter gives assistance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Medure family of New Castle hosts the event at the Villa on Nov. 16. Call Barb at 724-856-4323 for reservations. Tickets are $150, and include a five-course gourmet dinner and wine.

Absentee ballots

Applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 election must be at the Bureau of Elections in the Mercer County Courthouse no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday. Completed ballots must be received at the election office in the courthouse by 5 p.m. Friday. Applications are available online at www.votespa.com or at most area municipal buildings, state legislative offices, libraries and post offices.

Swim classes

The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, is offering four-week swim classes taught by an American Red Cross instructor. The following classes begin in November:

You & Me Baby (6 to 36 months): A four-week class from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturdays; $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

Dolphins (3 to 5 years): A four-week class from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays; $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers .

Sharks (6 to 12 years): A four-week class from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; $45 for members and $50 for nonmembers.
