Pittsburgh premiere for ‘War Horse’

“War Horse,” the National Theatre of Great Britain’s epic play and winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, will make its Pittsburgh premiere Nov. 13-18 at the Benedum Center.

The performance schedule is Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 and 6:30 p.m.

Food show features celebrity chefs

The seventh annual Fabulous Food Show will be Nov. 9-11 at the I-X Center, featuring celebrity chefs Michael Symon, Guy Fieri, Anne Burrell, Jeff Mauro, Jacques and Claudine Pepin, Sara Moulton, Mary Ann Esposito and more.

Tickets are $25 in advance at fabulousfoodshow.com, and $30 at the door. Reserved floor seating starts at $45. Weekend passes are available. Discount tickets are available at Giant Eagle.

The show will include exhibits and chef demonstrations. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 9; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 10; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 11.

Pottery workshops

Youngstown

Liz Smith, a sculptor and potter, will conduct free workshops at 2 and 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, and 2 p.m. Thursday, in the ceramics studio of Bliss Hall on the Youngstown State University campus. Smith also will lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday at the McDonough Museum of Art.
