“Community Connection” (7 a.m. Sunday, 21 WFMJ-TV; and 7 p.m. Tuesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel): The Youngstown City School system remains in academic watch, but changes have been made and school leadership remains positive. Connie Hathorn, superintendent, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the direction of the city schools.

Next, John Hoppa and Ron Novak of the USS Renegade Star Trek club will discuss an upcoming auction to benefit the Relay for Life.

Audra Carlson, education manager of the Roger and Gloria Jones OH WOW! Children’s Center for Science and Technology, will perform an Oh Wow! Moment featuring exhibits at the center.

Concert and dinner

POLAND

The Poland Seminary High School Wind Ensemble will give a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday in the school auditorium.

A pasta dinner also will take place Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets are $7 ($5 for children 12 and under; free for preschoolers).

Proceeds will benefit the band’s trip to Disney World, where it will perform on New Year’s Eve.
