Yambar to sign ‘SpongeBob’ comics

Comic book artist-writer Christ Yambar of Youngstown will sign copies of “SpongeBob SquarePants” comics from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Jay’s Hot Dogs, 68 Boardman-Canfield Road. Yambar, who also works on “The Simpsons” comics, recently began working on “SpongeBob.”

Army Field Band in Powers concert

The internationally acclaimed U.S. Army Field Band of Washington, D.C., will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at Powers Auditorium. Students from the Dana School of Music will participate, with Lauren Corcoran singing the National Anthem. Zombie Prom at Calvin Center

The Rust Belt Theater Company will host the second annual Youngstown Zombie Prom at 10 p.m. Saturday at Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave. This community costume party will feature live music, food, beer, performances by the Tribe of Eos, and Zombie Starrlet at midnight. “You don’t have to dress like a zombie,” said Rust Belt director Robert Dennick Joki. “Any costume will do.” Professional makeup artists and palm readers will be on hand. A cash prize of $100 will be given to the best costume after midnight. Admission is $5. For information, call 330-507-2358.
