A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:
GIRARD
Oct. 19
Identity fraud: A Villa Place man discovered the status of an account had been altered without his knowledge.
Assault: A woman alleged a Girard woman grabbed the accuser’s wrist and pushed her by the shoulder during a dispute.
Criminal damaging: A rock was thrown through a rear-door window in the 800 block of Lawrence Avenue.
Oct. 21
Assault: An 8-year-old Girard girl alleged a man struck the back of her head as she tried to get a set of keys from him.
Criminal mischief: Someone in the 300 block of Hazel Street struck a residence and a vehicle with eggs.
Oct. 22
Breaking and entering: Someone kicked a side door, then entered a garage in the 1600 block of North State Street and stole a $6,000 all-terrain vehicle.
Misuse of a credit card: A Morris Avenue man discovered his lost credit/debit card had been used without authorization.
Arrest: Officers on U.S. Route 422 picked up 23-year-old Jaymelyn Williams, 711 N. St. Clair Ave., Girard. She was wanted on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court.
Oct. 23
Stolen property: Police charged George J. Hoffman IV, 19, of 4005 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, and Isaac Jones, also 19, of 205 E. Main St., Girard, with receiving stolen property and complicity to receiving stolen property, respectively. A $500 global-positioning-system unit that had been stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Chippewa Court was in Hoffman’s pocket, a report said.
Breaking and entering: Two vehicles in the 10 block of Hillside Drive were ransacked before someone took a car charger, a flashlight and loose change.
Theft: A set of handcuffs was removed from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Squaw Creek Drive.
LIBERTY
Oct. 18
Theft: An estimated $4,000 worth of copper piping was removed from a home in the 300 block of Goldie Road.
Drugs: Officers responded to a theft at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they charged 25-year-old Kevin C. Jordan with one felony count of possession of dangerous drugs. Jordan, of 1229 North Road, Niles, had green pills in a bottle with no label and for which he had no prescription, police said.
Theft: Shelby L. Moore, 19, of 1505 South Ave., Youngstown, and Jermaine D. Bell, 28, of 63 Brooklyn Ave., Youngstown, faced charges of theft and marijuana possession after a $7 compact disc was stolen from Walmart. Moore and Bell had in their pockets one bag and three bags of suspected marijuana, respectively, authorities said.
Oct. 19
Arrest: Authorities responded to a suspicious person near a Motor Inn Drive motel before taking into custody Kenneth M. Gillespie, 30, of Cleveland, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants from the Cleveland area and faced a probation-violation charge.
Drugs: A car stopped on Green Acres Drive caught the attention of police, who charged 37-year-old Tod A. Benyo with marijuana possession and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Officers saw Benyo, of 15 Woodbine Ave., Youngstown, wrolling a suspected marijuana cigarette, they said.
Arrest: Police on Gypsy Lane stopped a vehicle for having a loud exhaust before taking into custody 19-year-old Bryan W. Cundall, 1529 West Ave. NW, Warren. Cundall was wanted on a probation- violation charge and was charged with having no operator’s license.
Arrest: Officers on state Route 193 pulled over 29-year-old Matthew R. Hormel, 3417 Ridgelawn Ave. SE, Warren, before taking him into custody on a warrant and citing him on a charge of having no operator’s license.
Oct. 20
Assault/criminal damaging: Authorities responded to a fight near Gypsy Lane, in which a woman alleged her boyfriend had punched her face as she drove. A short time later, the accuser got out of her car before he pushed her to the ground and damaged her cellphone, she told officers.
Arrest: While dealing with a shoplifting situation at Walmart, police charged Tina Davis-Myers, 46, with obstructing justice and complicity to theft. An uncooperative Davis-Myers, of 3676 Powers Way, Youngstown, hampered officers’ investigation by providing false information regarding her relationship to the man who reportedly committed the theft, a report showed.
Criminal damaging: Someone damaged two overhead garage doors to a building in the 1200 block of Gypsy Lane, apparently by stabbing the doors with a knife. Damage came to about $1,000.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a 911 hang-up call from Northgate Drive before arresting 22-year-old Keairra Brown-Jones, 3022 Northgate, Liberty, on a probation-violation charge.
Arrest: Steve A. Daniels, 33, of 1304 Berwick Ave., Youngstown, was pulled over on state Route 304 and charged with operating a vehicle impaired.
Oct. 21
Burglary: To an apartment in the 3200 block of Logan Way through the front door. Stolen were two wrought-iron chairs and a scooter.
Arrest: Police cited 36-year-old Radoslav Trudic, 4603 Middle Drive, Liberty, on charges of operating a vehicle impaired and having no operator’s license, during a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue.
Oct. 22
Harassment: An East Drive woman said her former husband left a threatening voice-mail message.
Oct. 23
Arrest: A traffic stop near Tibbetts-Wick Road resulted in a charge of operating a vehicle impaired against 28-year-old Margo Hillier, 734 Mauro Circle, Warren.
