Poland 10U girls travel soccer makes history

Neighbors | Submitted.In their inaugural year in the YAYSL as an official PYSA U-10 travel team, the Lady Dogs made history going an unprecedented 13-0, making them the 2012 YAYSL League Champs, as well as the 2012 YAYSL Fall Classic Tournament Champs. The team was coached by Mike Sebest (back, middle), with the assistance of his wife, Heather (back, right), and Pete Graff (back, left).

Neighbors | Submitted.Lady Dogs were named the 2012 YAYSL League Champs, as well as, the 2012 YAYSL Fall Classic Tournament Champs for their undefeated season. Team members, in no particular order, were Gia Diorio, Haley Trolio, Ella H., Teegan Graff, Halle Sebest, Emily Franco, Jackie Grisdale, Jillian Phillips, Anna Wollet, Addison Kaschak, Gabbie Seifert, and Lucy Graziano.

In their inaugural year in the YAYSL as an official PYSA 10U travel team, the Lady Dogs made history going an unprecedented 13-0 for the season. Their undefeated record gave them top honors as the 2012 YAYSL League champions, as well as, the 2012 YAYSL Fall Classic tournament champions.

The 12-member team faced competition from Boardman, Springfield, Canfield, Hubbard, Beaver Local, Austintown, West Branch and Niles. Behind a relentless offense that posted 73 goals for the season, and a defense that only gave up 19 total goals, the girls fought their way to victory week after week.

During the tournament, West Branch and Canfield fought hard, eventually losing to the Lady Dogs 3-1 and 3-2, respectively. The championship was won after beating Boardman 3-2.

The head coach was Mike Sebest. Sebest was assisted by his wife, Heather, and Pete Graff.

“We are all so proud of each and every one of you the season,” coach Sebest told the girls at the conclusion of the tournament.
