Canfield student named merit scholar

Emily Gianetti, a senior at Canfield High School and the daughter of John and Michele Gianetti of Canfield, has been named a semifinalist in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship program.

She is in the top 1 percent of high school seniors that took the PSAT qualifying test.

Gianetti is a member of the Canfield Players, the National Honor Society, Leos, Interact, and the Academic Challenge team, and she is also a part-time freelance writer for “Neighbors.”
