Students lined up in their best gowns and tuxedos ready to enjoy themselves at Boardman High School’s homecoming dance Sept. 29.
Hundreds of students poured into the school for an evening of fun and excitement. Some teachers were also in attendance and were eager to see their students dressed up.
“I’m really enjoying seeing the kids all dressed up and having a good time,” said school secretary Judy Marlin.
The event also included volunteer chaperones.
“I love it. It’s wonderful. It’s a safe place to have fun. Everyone likes to get dressed up and it’s a memory that they’ll never forget,” said Sherry Tokarsky.
Although the event was full of fun, it also provided students with an opportunity to learn proper etiquette and build character, according to event coordinator Noelle Matiste.
“It feels great to see them all dressed up and coming in. I think it’s a good experience for kids to go to a formal event and learn how act and behave,” Matiste said.
