Boy reimbursed

HUBBARD

A 9-year-old boy who lost his wallet over the weekend has been reimbursed.

Police said the child lost a wallet containing just more than $200 at a Hubbard High School football game on Friday but was fully reimbursed on Tuesday after community members offered donations, police said. They would not say exactly how much money was in the wallet.

Sgt. Bill Fisher said the child’s wallet was recovered at the game, but the money in it was missing.

Through a post on the police Facebook site, police notified residents of the child’s missing money. Fisher said the post brought in donations from generous residents looking to help the child.

Fisher said a 15-year-old boy was responsible for taking the money, but he’s not facing any criminal charges.

He said the student may face punishment from the school.
