E.T. immortalized in wax around world

LOS ANGELES

E.T. the extra-terrestrial is making appearances around the world.

Madame Tussauds unveiled wax likenesses of the otherworldly star of Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film “E.T. — the Extra-Terrestrial” at six of its international locations Monday.

The wax figures were crafted at Merlin Studios in London and will be on view at Madame Tussauds museums in Los Angeles, Sydney, Tokyo, London, Berlin and Amsterdam.

The exhibit features the iconic scene from the film where a blanket-wrapped E.T. rides in the makeshift basket of little Elliot’s BMX bicycle.

No charges for Lohan in alleged car scrape

NEW YORK

Lindsay Lohan won’t face criminal charges after being accused of clipping a man with her car outside a nightclub, one of a string of troubles the actress has encountered behind the wheel and elsewhere in recent months.

The “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday” star had been due to make her first court appearance in the case today, but the Manhattan district attorney’s office said Monday that there is now no court date scheduled at any point.

Prosecutors wouldn’t elaborate on their decision not to move forward on the allegations about the Sept. 21 episode, which was captured on surveillance video. Lohan’s spokesman had called the claims false.

“As we said from the beginning, this is a big nothing,” the spokesman, Steve Honig, said Monday.

CW gives ‘Arrow’ full-season order

LOS ANGELES

The CW announced Monday that it has given “Arrow” a full-season order.

The superhero drama based on DC Comics’ “Green Arrow” was a breakout hit for the network.

Its premiere earlier this month drew 4.1 million viewers — making it the CW’s most-watched telecast of any show in three years and its most watched premiere since “Vampire Diaries.”

It maintained its audience in the age 18-34 and 18-49 demographics in its second week.
