Man shot last week dies, now Youngstown's 22nd homicide for 2012


YOUNGSTOWN — A man who suffered several gunshot wounds last week died over the weekend, becoming the city’s 22nd homicide victim this year.

Mark S. Haskins, 57, of Norwood Avenue, was found with several gunshot wounds about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday in front of a house on the southwest corner of the intersection of Bissell and Kensington avenues on the North Side. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he died.

Haskins was unresponsive when police arrived, but was revived by paramedics, according to reports.

Police said had been told a vehicle drove near house, the shooter got out, fired at the victim and returned to the vehicle, which Haskins described as a green truck. Haskins told officers he did not know who shot him, records state.
