Week 7 Youth Soccer Recaps

Emily Gerak and Amanda Wire both scored goals this week for the Thunder Ducks. Earning MVPs for this game were Sarah Butch, Marlie Kluchar and Kara Schiulli.

Indika Smith earned the only goal this week for the Blue Thundercatz and also earned MVP for her team.

The Gold Fire guys saw Aiden Hryb score a goal. He and Aiden Markey also earned Most Valuable Players of the week.

The Blue Rocks saw Rachel Wolfe score a goal this week and earn MVP of the week. Lainie Raybuck also played great defense.

Mary Elise Armile and Cailor Sundstrom both scored goals for the Silver Bullets. Emily Basista played midfield and earned Most Valuable Player for the week.

The Lady Gray Hounds made Emily Ziegler the Most Valuable Player of the week.

The Yellow Jackets saw Noah Lee, Dakota Rudzik, and Neil Simons all score goals this week. MVP goes to Eric Grantonic for his exceptional goalie maneuvers.

Andrew Armile, Zach Brewer, Ben Dearing, and Joseph Zahran all had goals this week for the White Phantoms. Joseph Sahrid and Dante Parente were Most Valuable Players.

Youngstown Orthopaedic Saturday sports clinic

Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates’ Saturday sports clinics, geared specifically to fall sports student-athletes in need of immediate attention to sports injuries, has started.

The clinics run from 9-11 a.m. every Saturday throughout the high school sports season.

These clinics are open to players involved in football, volleyball, soccer, golf and other high school and college sports.

They are held at the practice’s Building A at the northwest corner of Tippecanoe Road and Boardman-Canfield Road in Canfield.

Poland athletic fee due

The Poland Local Schools Board of Education instituted an activity fee, effective July 1, for athletes in grades 7-12.

The activity fee is for students who choose to participate in extra-curricular activities that are supervised or coached by an individual employed by the district.

Club athletic programs will be exempt from the activity fee.

The winter sports payment deadline is on Friday. Make check or money order payable to Poland Board of Education, Attention: Athletic Fee, 3199 Dobbins Road, Poland, OH 44514.

Parents sports meeting at Poland

The Poland High School Athletic Department will host a Winter Sports Parent Meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The meeting is mandatory for parents whose children are playing a high school winter sport. All parents should plan to attend as we will be discussing policies and procedures for the upcoming winter season.
