Pa. man faces assault charges for attack on principal

HADLEY, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania State Police say they plan to charge a 44-year-old western Pennsylvania man for allegedly grabbing a high school principal by his shirt and tie after the principal accused the man’s son of being late for class.

Troopers from the Mercer County barracks say they plan to charge the man with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for the incident Wednesday at Commodore Perry High School. The Associated Press is not identifying the man because online court records don’t show that the charges have been filed.

The investigating trooper was not immediately available for comment and the school principal, 27-year-old Jeffrey Keeling, did not immediately return a message left on his school voice mail today.

The suspect did not immediately return a message seeking comment left with his wife.
