Mahoning commissioners told about 'wealth of job' opportunities for folks in construction trades
YOUNGSTOWN — A business manager for a local construction/labor union said the oil and gas drilling industry and related facilities offer a wealth of job opportunities for people trained in the construction trades.
“What’s exciting is that the first processing plant in Columbiana County is going to get started,” said Butch Taylor, of Local 396 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
Taylor was referring to construction of the Millennium Natural Gas processing plant near Hanoverton, which begins later this fall.
Taylor spoke before the Mahoning County commissioners this morning. Taylor’s union has 460 active members.
