Probing complaint

WARREN

Police investigated a complaint that a 22-year-old Forest Street man with a rifle-type gun threatened three men on Niles Road Southeast at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found the man and his vehicle on South Feederle Street. He was wearing a bulletproof vest, bail officer’s badge and handcuffs. He had a BB gun rifle in the trunk.

The man said he was attempting to locate a fugitive for a Warren bail bonding company, and the owner of the company told him he did not need a license and that he could earn $600.

The owner of the bonding company said the man doesn’t work for him. Police said they would ask the Warren prosecutor to determine whether charges would be filed.
