Facing multiple charges

CORTLAND

Police charged Aaron M. Lewis, 24, of Ravenna, with burglary, domestic violence and disrupting public services after an incident at an apartment on Stahl Avenue early Tuesday.

Police arrested Lewis near the apartment after a 32-year-old woman living there reported he broke in through a locked and chained front door, injuring her foot, destroying her phone, threatening her and fleeing after taking some of his belongings.

The two had been living together for three weeks, but the woman had told Lewis to leave over the weekend, which he did. Lewis is in Trumbull County jail awaiting arraignment today in Central District Court.

Man pleads innocent

WARREN

Todd Peterman, 50, of Washington Street Northeast pleaded innocent Tuesday to misdemeanor domestic violence after a 27-year-old Scott Street Northeast woman said he assaulted her because she would not work as a prostitute.

Police were called to the Scott Street address at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and found Peterman on top of the woman, holding her down in a chair.

The woman told police Peterman is her pimp and was upset because she wanted to take the night off, but he needed money.

The woman said Peterman smacked her in the face and took her phone and identification.

Peterman told police he “just keeps her safe on the streets.” Police charged Peterman as a result of the red mark on the woman’s face.
