Cops: Inmate tried to rape Pa. prison psychologist

ALBION, Pa. (AP) — An inmate has been charged with trying to rape a psychiatrist at a state prison in northwestern Pennsylvania where he had been serving a long sentence for an assault conviction in the Pittsburgh area.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 33-year-old Drob Sanders, who has since been transferred to a state prison in Forest County.

Pennsylvania State Police say Sanders attacked the psychiatrist on Sept. 24 when he was still housed at the State Correctional Institution-Albion, about 100 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The Erie Times-News reports Sanders used a stolen pass that enabled him to leave his cell block and pretended to be another inmate who had an appointment with the doctor. The woman interrupted the attack by knocking her phone off a desk, which triggered an alarm.
