Lantern walking tours scheduled in Mercer

MERCER, PA.

The annual Lantern-Light Walking Tours of the borough of Mercer on Wednesdays, Oct. 17, 24 and 31, will be sponsored by Mercer County Historical Society and Civil War Roundtable.

The leader of the tours will be William C. Philson, executive director. Wear walking shoes and take a lantern or flashlight.

Tours will begin at 7 p.m. in front of the historical society headquarters, 119 S, Pitt St., and end at that location. Tours last up to two and a half hours.

The tours are kid-friendly and will cater to the younger audience during the Halloween season. Walkers will visit historic cemeteries and homes and businesses of Mercer and more. They are free and open to the public.
