2nd presidential debate opens with questions about jobs, auto industry, gas prices

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — The second presidential debate is under way.

President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are squaring off for the second time of three planned debates.

They’re appearing in Hempstead, New York, with undecided voters asking questions.

It’s a nationally televised town hall-style encounter exactly three weeks before Election Day.

A college student asked the first question: what can the candidates do to assure him and his parents he will have a job when he graduates in 2014.
