Alert Warren officer finds missing boy in Lordstown

Niles police and many people across the Mahoning Valley are breathing a sigh of relief after an alert, off-duty Warren police officer found the 2-year-old boy taken Thursday night from Niles.
Police from throughout the Valley searched overnight for Michael Babuka III after a man took a car from a driveway on John Street in Niles, in which the boy was sleeping.
Warren patrolman Bennie Harrell spotted the car in Warren at 5:30 a.m. and arrested the man in a Lordstown driveway.
The boy appeared to be fine but was taken to St. Joseph Health Center to be checked, Capt. Ken Criswell of the Niles police said.
