New Springfield man killed in car crash
NORTH LIMA
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers continue to investigate a head-on crash that killed a 52-year-old New Springfield man.
Troopers said Joseph S. Flynn was driving south on state Route 7 about 9 p.m. Wednesday when he went left of center and hit a car traveling in the opposite lane driven by Leonilde Miranda, 80, of Youngstown.
The crash happened on Route 7 near Mennonite Drive.
Both drivers were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Flynn was pronounced dead at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday, and Miranda remained in critical condition Thursday, the patrol said.
Auto-title department moving to Oakhill
YOUNGSTOWN
Mahoning County’s auto- title department will close at noon today at the county’s South Side Annex in preparation for its weekend move to the first floor of Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave, at Entrance A, where it will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The title department will work through the weekend to process title work it receives today and plans to have it ready for pickup Tuesday morning. A shuttle van will be available to carry title department customers and early voters from Oakhill’s parking areas to Entrance A.

The monthly meeting of the Westside Citizens Coalition will welcome Fire Chief John O’Neill, who will discuss fire safety and address questions.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. for Tuesday in the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave. The meeting is open to the public, and upcoming programs and events will be discussed.
