State, crew clean up spill in Austintown

State environmental agents and a cleanup crew were expected to remain through the night at the scene of a paint spill into a creek along Four Mile Run Road.

Austintown Fire Department Capt. Don Conroy said the paint spilled into the creek from a stamping plant on Four Mile Run Road. He did not know Monday night how much paint spilled but said it was contained Monday afternoon by booms.

He said he did not know when the spill started but that the fire department was called shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.
