With no school Nov. 21, children and parents found other ways to amuse themselves in the Austintown community.

As usual, any time school is closed (even on snow days, but not on major holidays), Austintown Bounce opened at 11 a.m. to welcome patrons to play games and bounce off the walls.

“This is a great way to keep kids busy. Parents use the Bounce as a way to entertain their children and keep them moving around,” said Austintown Bounce employee Alec Harkabus.

Austintown Bounce offers a variety of obstacle courses and arcade-style games to entertain children of all ages.

Still other families opted to visit the Austintown Skate Zone Nov. 21 for one of its group skates. The skate zone also offers a complex obstacle course and a laser tag arena to entertain patrons.

For those whose skills were greater, the Skate Zone allowed anyone up to the challenge to participate in a some skating games. One game involved skating around the rink until a song stopped and patrons had to be in a corner of the rink by the end. At the roll of a giant plush dice, any corner stood the risk of being “out” and the last skater on the rink got a prize.

Austintown Bounce and the Austintown Skate Zone offer many different events throughout the year for families looking for fun. For more information, visit their websites at www.austintownbounce.com or www.skatezonefun.com.
