POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty and Girard:
LIBERTY
Nov. 22
Theft: A Centreville, Miss., man staying at a Motor Inn Drive motel reported two pairs of tennis shoes missing from his room.
Nov. 23
Aggravated assault: An off-duty police officer on Goldie Road heard four gunshots in the area before a township man reported the driver of a blue pickup truck had intentionally struck his motorcycle, causing the accuser to crash. The victim, who was cited on a charge of having no operator’s license, fired four shots at the truck, a report showed.
Assault: Police responded to a fight at a Belmont Avenue gas station before charging 20-year-old Jason M. Pinkard, 1027 Burlington St., Youngstown, with aggravated assault and simple assault. A Boardman man reported having been twice struck in the head with a vehicle’s strut mount before being taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to treat two large cuts, a report said.
Nov. 24
Assault: A Youngstown woman alleged a cousin had shoved her face, causing the accuser to strike her head on glass in the foyer area of a Belmont Avenue restaurant.
Fight: Authorities reported that while assisting township firefighters with a person who had suffered a seizure at a Motor Inn Drive motel, 15 to 30 people began to fight one another, then 30 to 40 others got into a fight in a parking lot. Vienna, McDonald, Girard and Humility of Mary Health Partners police assisted in quelling the melees and it took about 45 minutes for the crowd to disperse, a report said.
Nov. 25
Recovered property: A Green Acres Drive man found a $50 bicycle abandoned on his property.
Nov. 26
Breaking and entering/damage: Someone broke through a brick wall and damaged a portion of Adam Eve Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Co. Inc., 1196 Tibbetts-Wick Road, though it appeared no property was stolen.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 3000 block of Northgate Drive, though police found no signs of forced entry. Stolen were a 32-inch flat-screen TV and a Wii game console.
Arrest: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Beverly Hills Drive, then charged Raymond E. McWilson III, 42, of 630 W. Delason Ave., Youngstown, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Nov. 27
Breaking and entering: About $1,000 worth of copper was taken from, and $1,000 in damage was done to a residence in the 5200 block of Belmont Avenue that someone had entered through the front door.

Nov. 21
Theft: A Stambaugh Street man reported the theft of wiring from one of his trucks.
Criminal mischief: A metal gate belonging to a gym at 100 N. Market St. was damaged.
Recovered property: A North Highland Avenue woman found her daughter’s $100 bicycle after having reported it missing.
Nov. 22
Fraud: After noticing his wallet missing at a North State Street store, a man discovered numerous unauthorized charges were made to his two credit accounts.
Criminal damaging: A Trumbull Avenue woman reported someone had driven through her hedges and side yard, then side-swiped her vehicle, leaving minor paint damage.
Nov. 23
Attempted burglary: Two residents found several pry marks on a rear door to their home in the 200 block of Taylor Avenue and later discovered a screen had been removed from a kitchen window.
Nov. 25
Counterfeit: A fake $20 bill was found at Burger King, 322 S. State St.
Auto theft: A 2003 Ford Explorer was stolen in the 600 block of Powers Avenue.
Nov. 26
Criminal damaging: An East Second Street man told police a boy age 16 or 17 smashed a pumpkin and threw a rock, breaking a window.
Menacing: A Patricia Drive man told officers a tenant threatened to harm him after he had served an eviction notice to the tenant.
Theft: A Dearborn Avenue man reported his insulin stolen.
Burglary: A rear door was found open at a home in the 200 block of East Main Street, though no mention was made regarding missing items.
Arrest: Officers received a complaint about a motorist having driven through a Marshall Road yard before charging Michelle Amendol, 37, of 4492 New Road, Austintown, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Nov. 27
Attempted burglary: Someone removed a doorknob in an effort to enter a storage shed in the 1000 block of Patricia Drive.
Arrest: While responding to a parking complaint in the 300 block of Prospect Street, police charged 28-year-old Jonathan Taddei with disorderly conduct after saying Taddei, of 325 N. St. Clair Ave., Girard, had screamed profanities and refused to desist.
Menacing: A man at Girard Municipal Court reported another man with whom the accuser had settled a small-claims matter made an implied threat against him.
