The Poland Players put on their production of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” written by Doug Rand and adapted from the screen play by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling, at the Poland Seminary High School auditorium Nov. 15-17.
The play was directed by Candy Fonagy with the help of Assistant Director Paige Garthwaite.
The lead role of George Bailey was played by senior Cameron Dinopoulos, with Ashlee Weaver portraying the role of Mary Bailey. The cast and crew spent several months prior to opening night preparing by building sets, learning lines and gathering any costumes or props necessary to put on the production.
“We have worked so hard for this. We have only had a few errors and we fixed all of those yesterday. You are going to do great tonight,” said Fonagy to her actors prior to one show.
The auditorium at Poland High School was packed full of students, parents, and supporters of Poland Players to see this rendition of the classic Christmas story.
More than 70 Poland Seminary High School students, whether acting or backstage, were involved in this production.
