Mahoning dog licenses for ’13 on sale Saturday

Dog and kennel licenses for 2013 will go on sale Saturday in Mahoning County.

Ohio law requires annual licenses for all dogs over 3 months of age, and the county licensing deadline is Feb. 28, the county auditor’s office said.

The $15 dog tags may be purchased at certain motor-vehicle-licensing bureaus and retail establishments, online, by mail, or at the county auditor’s office or dog pound.

Kennel licenses can be purchased pnly through the county auditor’s office.

Checks should be made payable to the Mahoning County treasurer and mailed to the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office, c/o Dog Licensing, 120 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44503, with a self- addressed, stamped envelope.

Payments may be made by eCheck at www.mahoningcountyauditor.org for a 50-cent fee per eCheck. Credit cards may not be used.

Dog-license letters with attached registration forms have been mailed to all registered dog owners.

Registration fees double and court citations may be issued after Feb. 28.
