Fat Neil Comedy returns to Oakland

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

The Live Show with Fat Neil Comedy, featuring sketch and improvisational comedy and music, will begin at 9 p.m. Friday at the Oakland Center for the Arts.

Fat Neil Comedy is a local troupe comprised of stand-up comedians Jaye Mills, Jesse Huber, Josh Winters, Tim Wolfe, Tommy Snodgrass, Michael Kolenich, Eric Lewis, Erik Cribley and Angela “Fro” Clemente.

The group began meeting early this year to brainstorm and write skits in hopes of performing them for a live audience.

“We wanted to be the ‘Saturday Night Live’ of Youngstown,” said founder Jaye Mills. Its first show was Feb. 25 at the Oakland, where it was joined by the band Gypsy Lane.

That show drew a packed house, encouraging Fat Neil Comedy to write more material, which it will finally debut Friday.

“We are honored to be back at the Oakland and can’t wait to get back on the stage,” said Mills.

The troupe will be joined by local band Ivory Crutch at the show.

Tickets to Friday’s show are $5 in advance and $7 at the door; call 330-333-1113 to make reservations (leave a message with your name, number and the requested number of tickets), or email fatneilcomedy@gmail.com.
