Calgary mayor to honor Grey Cup bet

CALGARY, Alberta

Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi says he’ll honor a Grey Cup wager even though his Toronto counterpart has been ordered out of office.

A judge ruled Monday that Toronto Mayor Rob Ford violated the city’s conflict of interest rules.

But Nenshi says “a bet is a bet is a bet,” so he plans to wear an Argos jersey at a city council meeting Tuesday. He will also donate about $650 to the Toronto Food Bank.
