Ukrainian chorus to visit Holy Trinity

YOUNGSTOWN

The world-renowned Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus will perform at noon Dec. 2 at Holy Trinity Church Hall, 525 W. Rayen Ave.

The chorus last performed in the Youngstown area in the 1970s.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Founded in 1918, the all-male chorus has a long history of representing Ukrainian bandura and choral music in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and Ukraine since immigrating to North America from Europe in 1949. Members range in age from 16 to 80.

From a musical perspective, the bandura unifies acoustic principles of both the lute and the harp.
