Eric Thompson, formerly of Austintown, and Melissa Cherry were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Sept. 29 on Lido Beach, Sarasota.

Judge Doug Henderson officiated.

A cocktail hour and reception followed at Lido Beach Resort.

The bride is the daughter of Laurie Cherry and Mark Cherry of Bradenton, Fla. Parents of the groom are Sandra and John Russo of Sarasota and Lloyd and Carol Thompson of Austintown.

Jenne Eisenmann was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Thompson, Amber Dowdy, Miranda Monahan, Megan Tobar, Samantha Ketchum, Sarah Christophel, Kristy Guy, Amanda Wagner and Alicia Layton. Ellie Layton was a junior bridesmaid.

Zachary Thompson, the groom’s brother, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Roger Humberson, Kevin Kreiger, Jared Monahan, Hector Tobar, Jeff Moritz, Mike Volpe, Greg Doll, Wayne Selig, Rory Zinna, Chris Elias, Stuart Luther and Jeff Layton.

The bride is a paralegal at Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick LLP in Sarasota. She attends the University of South Florida.

The groom is a graduate of Youngstown State University. He received his juris doctorate from Barry University. He is an administrative director and legal counsel for M-Powertech in Bradenton, Fla.

After a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple reside in Parrish, Fla.
