LISBON
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-car accident that left one person dead Saturday morning. Officers said Kelly E. Clark, 35, was killed after her SUV struck an embankment and overturned in Madison Township shortly before 8 a.m. Police said Clark was traveling east along East Liverpool Road near Y&O Road. Clark was driving a 2001 GMC Jimmy and had two juvenile passengers. Both were transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. Their conditions were not available Saturday night.
Head-on collision
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
Two people were flown to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown after their vehicles collided head- on here. Jesse A. Swanson, 20, of Slippery Rock and Daniel J. Book, 22, of New Castle crashed at 4:10 a.m. Saturday. Swanson was driving a 2000 Toyota Solara south on Pa. Route 19 before hitting Book’s 1992 Chevrolet S-10 truck, which was traveling north on Route 19. Their conditions were unavailable Saturday night.

Generic-Lipitor recall

Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc. has recalled dozens of lots of its generic version of cholesterol drug Lipitor because some may contain tiny glass particles, the latest in a string of manufacturing deficiencies that once led U.S. regulators to bar imports of the Indian company’s medicines. Friday, Ranbaxy, a subsidiary of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., India’s biggest drugmaker, posted a notice on its U.S. website, saying it’s recalling 10-, 20- and 40-milligram doses of atorvastatin calcium, which is generic Lipitor.
