Carlo LoParo has joined Columbus-based Strategic Public Partners as vice president of public relations.

LoParo, an 18-year communications professional, will lead SPP’s public relations division and serve the media relations, strategic message development and crisis communication needs of the firm’s clients.

His background includes public relations work with several statewide candidates and ballot-issue campaigns. He also has served as communications lead for a number of state agencies, including the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Treasury, among others.

F.N.B. Wealth Management has hired Lisa O’Dell as senior vice president and director of retirement services.

O’Dell will manage the client service team that supports all retirement business for F.N.B. Wealth management across the company’s three-state footprint.

She will be based in Pittsburgh and report to David Buckiso, managing executive of wealth management.

O’Dell is a graduate of Indiana University with nearly 20 years of industry experience. She lives in Wexford, Pa., with her husband, Dean, and their two children.

Akron-based law firm Babst Calland has hired Michael Altvater to join its litigation services group as an associate.

Altvater will represent business owners and individuals in all phases of commercial litigation, employment law, oil and gas litigation and other disputes.

Altvater graduated from Wright State University in 2002 and went on to graduate from the University of Akron School of Law in 2008.
