John Simon out with knee injury

— Cardinal Mooney High School graduate John Simon will miss the final game of his college career with a knee injury.

Simon was the final player introduced as part of Ohio State's senior day pregame festivities. He wore his No. 54 jersey, sweatpants and a hat.

Ohio State's sports information office announced just before the kickoff of Saturday's game against Michigan that Simon had injured his right knee in last week's 21-14 overtime win over Wisconsin. Simon reportedly underwent treatment and rehabilitation this week in hopes of being able to play, but could not go.

As Simon hobbled onto the field to cheers from a sellout crowd at Ohio Stadium, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer walked out to greet and hug him at the 17-yard-line.

Simon had four sacks against Wisconsin in what turned out to be his final college game.
