During the weeks preceding Veteran’s Day, the St. Joseph Immaculate Heart of Mary (SJIHM) student council conducted a “Support Our Troops” campaign.

Students were asked to donate items such as instant drink mixes, tissues, lip balm, beef jerky, sports magazines, playing cards, medicated foot powder and double-sided tape.

Names of specific military personnel and their APO addresses were gathered together, while cards were made by the students thanking them for their service.

On Nov. 11, student council and SJIHM staff members arrived at school to pack boxes to be sent to the individual military personnel. Seventeen boxes were packed this year.
