1987: David B. Williams, who was acquitted in 1982 on charges stemming from his management of parking lots at the Youngstown Municipal Airport pleads guilty in a Tulsa federal court to six counts of bank fraud.

Tamco Distributors, which services the Phar-Mor discount drugstore chain, will take over the former Strouss warehouse on Victoria Road in a $17 million project that will add 365 jobs in Austintown.

1972: The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati upholds the dismissal of lawsuits brought against Ohio Gov. James A. Rhodes, the National Guard and Kent State University in the shooting deaths of four students on May 4, 1970. The court had ruled that the training of National Guardsmen and their carrying of loaded weapons is a political and military issue beyond the court’s jurisdiction.

1937:Carl W. Ullman, president of the Dollar Savings & Trust Co., of Youngstown is among the prominent Ohio businessmen who traveled to Washington, D.C., to urge Congress to abolish the undistributed profits tax and amend capital gains tax law.
