Source: Maryland accepts Big Ten's invitation

ESPN is reporting that sources have said the University of Maryland's Board of Regents has voted unanimously to accept an offer to join the Big Ten Conference and leave the Atlantic Coast Conference.

An afternoon announcement is expected, according to ESPN.

Rutgers also is reportedly considering an offer from the Big Ten. With the Terrapins apparently coming to the Big Ten, the addition of the Scarlet Knights would bring the conference's members to 14 schools.
