McDONALD

The 31st annual Christmas in the Village festivities will be Saturday, starting with the Village Tree Lighting at 6:30 p.m. near the Ramsey Pavilion.

The tree lighting will be followed by the arrival of Santa Claus.

Afterward, there will be free hayrides and caroling to village residents unable to attend the festivities.

Children will have many activities to enjoy on the Village Green across from the municipal building, including a visit with Santa, making reindeer food, coloring, crafts and face painting.

Refreshments will be provided from 7 to 9 p.m. Participants can stay warm and enjoy the free refreshments near the bonfire. Events will run until 9 p.m. All activities during the event are sponsored by donations from the community, and the hard work and support of the McDonald Village representatives and the Lions’ Club.

Village officials are asking members of the community to make a cookie donation for the event. Donations can be dropped off at the municipal building, 451 Ohio Ave., and Home Savings Bank, 427 Ohio Ave., starting Wednesday.

Cookie drop-off on Saturday will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ramsey Pavilion.

Those with questions or concerns are asked to call the McDonald Municipal Building. Its hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and its phone number is 330-530-5472.
