Christmas fundraiser set for Children's Aid Society

MERCER, PA.

Friends of Children’s Aid Society of Mercer County is sponsoring its annual fundraiser, Christmas Celebration for Children, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 and 30 at the Children’s Aid Society, 350 W. Market St.

The celebration will feature homemade rolls, breads, pies, cookies and candy. It also will feature holiday baskets and Christmas items.

Advance orders for poinsettias in four colors, fresh evergreen wreaths, door and window swags, and white pine roping can be picked at this event.

Advance orders must be made by Friday by calling 724-662-4730. Evergreens and poinsettias also will be sold at the event.

All proceeds will benefit programs and services of Children’s Aid Society.

During the 2011 Christmas season the society provided 2,912 families and children with toys, clothing and necessities.

The Friends contributed $1,650 to help the agency with the project and another $4936.80 throughout this year.
