VegNews, the industry leader in vegan publications, has awarded The Flaming Ice Cube one of its “11 best” awards for the locally produced veggie burger. The burger is ranked with competition from all over the country. The Flaming Ice Cube is a vegan cafe with two locations, including one in Boardman.

The PNC Financial Services Group, based in Pittsburgh, has named Steven C. Van Wyk as head of Operations and Technology. Van Wyk will join the company as executive vice president and serve as a member of the executive committee beginning in January.

Van Wyk previously served as global chief operating officer at ING. He also held several positions at Morgan Stanley between 1996 and 2006. He is a graduate of the Central University of Iowa and a certified public accountant.

Youngstown resident Jeff Herrmann has been named chief revenue officer at Valley View-based Fathom, a digital marketing agency.

In his new role, Herrmann will help lead the company’s internal marketing and sales team. He also will work to build strategic partnerships and craft other marketing strategies.

Herrmann, a 15-year veteran at the Nielsen Company, has a master’s degree in finance and economics from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Rubenstein Associates, a full-service marketing consulting firm headquartered in Liberty Township, has been selected as one of the firms that will represent BP America in Northeast Ohio.

The marketing firm, headed by Carolyn Rubenstein, has served clients in the Mahoning Valley and throughout the United States for more than 40 years. BP has leased more than 80,000 acres in Trumbull County.

Youngstown-native Dr. Geoffrey R. Keyes has been selected as president of the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF).

Keyes is certified by two medical boards, the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery. He also served in various roles with the AAAASF.

Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pa., expanded its pain management staff with the hiring of Dr. Muhammad Arif. He is an interventional pain-management specialist and is a board-certifiedSFlbphysical medicine and rehabilitation physician. Arif is a surgery trained rehabilitation physician and is trained at an accredited pain management fellowship program.

Frank Zone has been named the Shepherd of the Valley Poland community employee of the month for October. Zone joined Shepherd of the Valley in November 2009 as a transportation provider. This past summer, he joined the reception staff to help cover vacations and has been an invaluable member of the reception team ever since.

Gwen Bush has joined Byce Auction & Realty in Youngstown as a real-estate agent. Bush will specialize in conventional and accelerated sales for real estate and personal property.

A former president of the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors, Bush also has served on that organization’s board. She also has been nominated for the Athena Award.

Chris Mears of Murphy Tractor & Equipment Company Inc. has been named branch manager at the company’s Canton and Poland locations.
