A Saturday Night Sing-along is planned today at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2088 Tibbetts-Wick Road.

Refreshments begin at 6 p.m., a concert by Kim and Karen starts at 6:30 and the sing-along is at 7.

The event is free.

Human Rights Day

Pastor Sapp to speak

Pastor Marvin Sapp, Stellard and Dove award winner and senior pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center of Grand Rapids, Mich., will speak at the 7 p.m. Nov. 28 service at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1812 Oak Hill Ave.

Pastor Sapp was a member of Commissioned. He began a solo career in 1991. Pastor Sapp released “Thirsty” in 2006, and from that album the single “Never Would Have Made It” became a gospel ballad.

The event is open to the public. Doors open at 6.

Dedication set

The Solomon family invites the congregation of Temple El Emeth to the unveiling of the monument for Howard Solomon at noon Dec. 2 at Granada Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the synagogue, 3970 Logan Way.

Dedication of the newly renovated chapel in memory of Sylvia and Howard Soloman will be at 2:30 p.m. The newly renovated ark also will be dedicated. A dessert reception will follow.

Spirituality Day

The Benedictine Sisters of Queen of Heaven Monastery will have a Spirituality Day on Dec. 8 at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 180 Belvedere Ave., NE.

The Rev. Kevin Marks, pastor of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage, Pa., will speak on “Holy Days in the Byzantine Catholic Church.”

There will be time for reflection, questions, refreshments and the Mystery (Sacrament) of Reconciliation. Participants also may pray vespers.

Bethesda Church of the Living God, 2611 Milton St., will host its annual Family and Friends Day at 11:30 am. Sunday.

Musical guests will be KJuan Patterson, Alicia Jackson and Michelle Battee. Speakers will be Minister Derrick Moore of Pittsburgh and Elders Serina and Claude Brooks.

100th anniversary

St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1898 Wilson Ave., will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a Divine Liturgy of Thanksgiving at 4 p.m. Nov. 24 followed by a celebration dinner. Celebrants will be His Eminence, Metropolitan Archbishop William Skurla, the Rev. David J. Shortt, pastor, and six visiting priests.
