Melinda S. Thomas and Kevin R. Wallace, both of Youngstown, exchanged vows Sept. 1 in a 4:30 p.m. wedding ceremony at New Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth L. Simon officiated.

A reception in their honor was held at The Elm Tree, Struthers.

Parents of the couple are Eddie Thomas and Barbara Terrell Thomas, both of Youngstown, and Mr. and Mrs. Olin Wallace of Youngstown.

The bride is attending Eastern Gateway College.

The groom is attending Youngstown State University and is a U.S. Army veteran.

The bride wore a white satin strapless gown adorned with crystal and diamond stones with white diamond flowers and a bustle with its train.

Shirleen Butler was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alisha Bratton, the groom’s niece; Cora Carter, the groom’s sister; Maliyah Clark, the bride’s daughter; Ml’kayla Rushton; Malaka and Melissa Thomas, the bride’s sisters; and Danya Terrell, the bride’s cousin. Amiyah Maiden and Dynasty Bratton, the groom’s nieces, and Cherisha Thompson, the bride’s niece, were flower girls. The attendants wore marine and pewter gowns.

The groom’s brother, Alvin White, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Terrance Bratton, the groom’s nephew; Gregory Clark, the bride’s son; Rich McBride; Dwayne and Eddie Thomas, the bride’s brothers; Andre and Kendal White, the groom’s cousins. The groom’s nephew, Jerbrail Grhim, was ring bearer. Ushers were Allen Coleman and Jamail White, the bride’s cousins.
