Youngstown State University Tech Prep purchased 210 Web-based ALEKS accounts to benefit students attending Chaney STEM/VPA Campus.

ALEKS is an adaptive, online math program that uses artificial intelligence and open-response questioning to identify precisely what each student knows and doesn’t know.

“We are so thankful to YSU Tech Prep for making this program available to our students,” said Pam Lubich, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics coordinator. “We have researched this program and were looking for ways to fund it when YSU stepped forward.”

Through individualized learning and assessment, ALEKS provides a personalized learning path on the exact topics each student is most ready to learn.

“We are doing this for Chaney STEM/VPA students to help them become ‘College Ready and Career Bound,’” said Arlene Floyd, director of YSU’s Associate Degree and Tech Prep programs.
