Oct. 24

Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 90 block of Washington Boulevard, from which two flat-screen TVs were stolen.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a home in the 50 block of Leighton Avenue via a rear door.

Arson: Police assisted the Boardman Fire Department with investigating a fire in a wooded area near a backyard in the 500 block of Deer Run Drive.

Arrest: Police charged 30-year-old Rachel R. Santiago with making a false alarm, a first-degree misdemeanor, after having responded to a reported robbery at the Southern Park Mall. Shortly afterward, authorities detained her boyfriend, who alleged Santiago, of 7544 Market St., Boardman, made the call to get him in trouble, something she later admitted to, a report showed.

Menacing: An employee with a California Avenue restaurant said a customer made the latest in a series of unwanted comments toward her.

Public indecency: A worker for a U.S. Route 224 gas station reported seeing a man urinate near a gas pump.

Identity fraud: A Youngstown woman who acts as power of attorney for a man reported he was a fraud victim when his Ohio Public Employees Retirement System benefits were cashed for $56,534 and mailed to an address in the 4400 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Someone removed $150 from a truck in the 2400 block of Hunters Ridge Drive.

Harassment: A worker for a Market Street dance-supply business reported a man called threatening to send someone to the business to shoot her.

Arrest: Authorities picked up 28-year-old Jeremy Daviduk walking near Market Street on a warrant charging Daviduk, of 3985 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, with unlawful restraint, a third-degree misdemeanor.

Oct. 25

Criminal damaging: Officers charged 18-year-old Daniel J. Frazzini Jr., 115 W. Main St., Canfield, with criminal damaging after accusing him of damaging playground equipment in September at Market Street Elementary School, 5555 Market St.

Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged in the 5900 block of Sharon Drive.

Arrest: Police took into custody 31-year-old Anthony J. Latessa at his home, 4105 Arden Blvd., Boardman, on a warrant charging him with criminal trespassing.

Theft: A woman in her 20s stole miscellaneous hair-care products from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: Police at the Trumbull County jail picked up 58-year-old James O. Newton of Erie, Pa., on a township warrant charging him with passing a bad check. An employee with Chuck E. Cheese, 521 Boardman-Poland Road, said she allowed Newton to write a $100 check before learning the check was invalid, a report showed.

Theft: Jessica L. Wallace, 33, of 356 Warren Ave., Niles, was charged, accused of taking a $20 pair of shoes from Payless Shoesource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road.

Counterfeit: An employee with Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, noticed a phony $20 bill in a drawer.

Identity fraud: An Ivy Hills Drive woman reported receiving an email stating her account had been used in an attempt to have money improperly transferred to another bank account.

Oct. 26

Arrest: Authorities charged Daniel R. Parker, 26, of 81 Lemans Drive, Boardman, with obstructing official business and failure to comply with police when they said Parker led them on vehicular and foot pursuits after they tried to pull him over. He also was wanted on a warrant charging him with domestic violence.

Fraud: A South Avenue man discovered his stolen automated-teller-machine card was used to withdraw $589 from his checking account without consent.

Aggravated menacing: A South Avenue man reported a female caller threatened to send someone to his home to harm and kill him regarding money the woman said was owed her.

Theft: A $65 Halloween decoration was removed from a yard in the 800 block of Shields Road.

Arrest: Lynjeana D. Miller, 28, of 619 Lakewood Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody on a probation-violation charge after having been pulled over in the 1400 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.

Citation: Eric S. McElroy Jr., 18, of 965 Katherine Ave., Youngstown, was cited near South Avenue on a marijuana- possession charge.

Oct. 27

Arrest: Latoya S. Blackmon, 26, was taken into custody on a warrant charging her with attempted theft. Blackmon, of 2717 Wick St. SE, Warren, was accused of trying to steal coats and other items from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man in his 30s stole a $75 MP3 player from Walmart.

Burglary: To a home in the 7400 block of Glenwood Avenue through a side window. Two firearms were taken.

Fraud: A Macachee Drive woman told police a man scammed her of more than $65,000, in part by persuading her to send him $9,800 after claiming he was arrested for having gold bars the man said he had found in the desert near Kabul.

Harassment: A Stadler Court woman said her former fianc refused to leave her alone, then called threatening to slash her car’s tires.

Theft: Brenda M. Underwood, 27, of 378 E. Avondale Ave., Youngstown, and Ellen Underwood, 53, of 947 Winona Ave., Youngstown, were charged in the theft of six Halloween items from Walmart. Also, police charged 25-year-old Shacole Slocum, 63 Brooklyn Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing after saying she violated an order to stay off the property.

Harassment: A Crestview Drive man told officers he received a call asking him to kill the caller’s parents.

Theft: Police charged 30-year-old Anthony J. Dicristofaro, 665 Perkinswood Blvd., Warren, and Jessica L Wallace, 33, of 356 Warren Ave., Niles, with stealing two pairs of men’s tennis shoes from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: Officers stopped a vehicle on Boardman-Canfield Road, where they picked up 31-year-old Thomas T.J. Carr, 164 W. Second St., Niles, on a warrant from Struthers accusing him of failing to appear in court on a charge of obstructing official business. Carr also was cited on a charge of marijuana possession, a minor misdemeanor.

Theft: A man in his 20s stole two tattoo aftercare kits from Walmart.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Midlothian Boulevard led to the arrest of 33-year-old Robert L. Wilson Jr., who listed Youngstown addresses on East Boston and East Florida avenues. Wilson was wanted on bench warrants accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Theft: A Friendship Avenue woman said various foods were missing from her refrigerator.

Harassment: A woman reported getting two such calls while at a South Avenue gas station.

Oct. 28

Theft: A $200 cellphone was stolen from a Southern Park Mall kiosk.

Assault: A Hopkins Road girl reported a 17-year-old girl pushed her to the ground and tried to punch the accuser during an argument. The victim had no visible injuries, however.

Possible theft: An Eisenhower Drive woman reported her front license plate lost or stolen from her car.

Theft: A man in his mid- to late 20s stole a $40 purse from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 7295 Market St.

Harassment: A Boardman couple told police their 10-year-old daughter received a disturbing photograph on her cellphone of Adolph Hitler, apparently as a means of harassment because the family is Jewish.

Domestic violence: Karlie M. Snyder, 25, of 3188 Andrew St., East Liverpool, was charged with the crime after her husband, of Mill Creek Boulevard, alleged Snyder had struck the back of her head, right eye and face during an argument. The accuser had a cut near his eye.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a carport in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road before stealing a bag of charcoal, lighter fluid, a power-brake device and a bucket of assorted tools.

Oct. 29

Arrest: Police near Meadowbrook Avenue stopped James C. Simmons Jr., 105 Meadowbrook, Boardman, who was wanted on a bench warrant from New York charging him with a parole violation.

Stolen property: Officers charged 29-year-old Jillian L. Russell, 129 Ellenwood Ave., Youngstown, with receiving stolen property and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle after accusing her of trying to exchange stolen merchandise at Dot’s Inc., 1200 Doral Drive. Russell, who also was cited on a marijuana-possession charge, had a loaded semiautomatic pistol in her trunk, a report said.

Harassment: A Melrose Avenue man said a co-worker has made such calls to his residence.

Oct. 30

Breaking and entering/vandalism: Someone broke into American Beauty Landscaping, 5415 South Ave., before cutting locks to three equipment trailers and forcibly entering them.

Theft: A 30-day temporary tag was removed from a vehicle in the 5700 block of Sheridan Road.

Nov. 2

Theft: A 16-year-old East Palestine girl was charged with stealing merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, then released to the custody of her mother.

Arrest: Police arrested Anita A. Simmons, 27, of 940 W. LaClede Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant charging her with complicity to robbery, a second-degree felony, after three women had tried to steal merchandise from Five Below, a clothing store at 411 Boardman-Poland Road. One of the women grabbed an employee’s hair and threw her to the ground before the three fled, police said.

Criminal damaging: Police booked Brian J. Romine, 573 Miller Ave., Youngstown, on a criminal-damaging charge after an employee with a Boardman-Poland Road store alleged the 32-year-old Romine had punctured three of his vehicle’s tires.

Drugs: Authorities near Simon Road pulled over 29-year-old Resean J. Graham, 338 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, before charging him with one felony count of possession of dangerous drugs. Eight pills with no prescription were found, a report said.

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her $300 cellphone stolen while in the 7400 block of Market Street.

Harassment: An Oakridge Drive girl said several people sent derogatory messages to her via Twitter.

Theft: Two women in their 30s stole $120 worth of clothing from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Theft: A woman failed to return 19 pet products to Harbor Pet Center, 7338 Market St., after having canceled payment for the items.

Robbery: A man in his 20s wearing a red sweat shirt and blue jeans shoved a worker with T.J. Maxx, 717 Boardman-Poland Road, to the ground after having stolen four purses and before fleeing in a black Chevrolet pickup truck. A partial license-plate number was obtained, a report showed.

Criminal mischief: Someone with washable paint wrote an obscene message on two of a vehicle’s windows in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers investigating a parking violation at Walmart charged 25-year-old Rachel E. Olsavsky, 235 Matta Ave., Youngstown, with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. A police dog led to the discovery of a scale with residue from a white powder, as well as a syringe and the ends of cotton swabs commonly used as filters for drug use, a report said.

Theft: Police charged Julene L. Day, 32, of 45296 state Route 558, New Waterford, with the theft of two pairs of shoes and a hair dryer from T.J. Maxx.

Nov. 3

Counterfeit: A township woman inadvertently passed a fake $20 bill at Marc’s, 7121 Tiffany Blvd. She was not charged with any wrong-doing, however.

Bad checks: Tommy Perry, 50, of 63 E. Avondale Ave., Youngstown, was booked on a felony charge of passing bad checks. He was accused of cashing two checks totaling $525 at Midwest Money Center, 5021 Market St., that were returned on a closed account.

Attempted theft/menacing: Two women in their late 30s to early 40s tried to steal merchandise from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., before one of the women reportedly threatened to harm an employee.

Arrest: Police at a Market Street motel picked up 43-year-old Susan A. Dama, 2011 South Heights Ave., Youngstown. She was wanted on a probation-violation warrant from Trumbull County related to a telecommunications-harassment charge.

Citation: Michael R. Crist, 56, of 8145 North Lima Road, Poland, was cited on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired after police had pulled him over near Walker Mill Road.

Theft: Nickola J. Sisco, 43, of 1946 Wakefield Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing nine articles of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen while shopping at a Boardman-Canfield Road grocery store.

Burglary: To a residence in the 4000 block of Windsor Road through a side door. Several gift cards were missing.

Assault/aggravated menacing: A motorist told police another driver followed him to South Cadillac Drive, where the driver got out and intentionally bumped the accuser’s chest before threatening to kill him. The driver had run a red light and nearly struck the accuser’s vehicle, he reported.

Counterfeit: A customer passed a phony $20 bill at Gloria Jean’s Coffee Bean in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of a $450 electronic tablet from his car.

Theft: A man discovered a gold wristwatch, a diamond ring and a gold bracelet missing from his Canterbury Lane residence. The loss was estimated at $2,100.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrest of 47-year-old Ralph E. Harless, 100 Spring Garden Drive, Boardman, on a felony count of operating a vehicle impaired. The charge was upgraded to a felony because it was his fourth OVI conviction in a six-year period, police said.

Nov. 4

Theft: Arnold J. Ash, 47, faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after two global-positioning-system devices were stolen from Walmart. Ash, of 1981 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman, also used a small knife to cut the packaging of the items, a report showed.

Assault: Officers responded to a fight at a South Avenue eatery, where a Poland man reported having been punched in the eye. He had a cut and swelling to the affected area.

Robbery: Two gunmen in their late teens or early 20s wearing black hooded sweat shirts robbed Subway, 5205 Market St., before being given an undisclosed amount of money and fleeing on foot. One of the robbers had a bandanna covering his face; the other wore a Halloween mask, the report showed.

Theft: Someone removed a gift card and other items from gift baskets that were part of a fundraising event at Ice Zone, 360 McClurg Road.

Attempted theft: Two women tried to take two pairs of leather boots from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Counterfeit: A Tippecanoe Road man selling an Xbox 360 system online told police a buyer gave him three $50 bills he later discovered were fake.

Nov. 5

Theft: Melanie A. Paine, 33, of 29 Creed Circle, Campbell, was charged after $229 worth of groceries was stolen from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Extortion: A Boardman woman alleged her former fiance had threatened to display revealing photographs of her, which had the potential to damage her career and personal life, if the accuser refused to return personal property to him within two weeks.

Theft: A man in the 4000 block of South Avenue reported jewelry, medications, a digital camera, a GPS device and a Bluetooth item stolen from his home.

Aggravated menacing: A township veterinarian reported getting online threats implying he would be killed and his property damaged, apparently after he had posted certain opinions.

Theft: An employee of a South Avenue business noticed $160 and an iPhone missing from her purse.

Theft: Corey J. Shrout of 290 Austin Ave. SW, Warren, was charged. The 37-year-old Shrout was accused of taking two pairs of shoes from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Harassment: An Aylesboro Avenue man said his former wife has continually sent unwanted text messages to him.

Theft: Two workers with Pet Supplies Plus, 411 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered a bag containing an undisclosed sum of money missing from a safe.

Theft: A $200 hunting jacket was removed from a truck in the 5200 block of West Boulevard.

Citation: Officers dealing with a vehicular crash near Shields Road and Sheban Drive cited 28-year-old Brandie L. Noble, who listed addresses on Arden Boulevard and Tippecanoe Road. She was charged with failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle impaired.

Theft: Markeda E. Dorsey, 40, faced one count each of theft and obstructing official business after $538 worth of merchandise was stolen from Touchdown Gifts in Southern Park Mall. Dorsey, of 1805 Ferndale Ave., Warren, initially refused to stop for police, they said.

Theft: Nesheka A. Parker, 32, of 107 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, and Charles U. Sewell, same address, were charged in the theft of six electronic items from Walmart.

Nov. 6

Recovered property: Police checked a car in the 1200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road and determined the 2011 Toyota vehicle had been stolen in Austintown.
