$1M bond set for suspect in Ohio slaying
NEWARK, Ohio (AP) — A $1 million bond has been set for a central Ohio man accused of gunning down a businessman who went to check on a possible break-in at his rental property.
A judge in Licking County, east of Columbus, had initially ordered 50-year-old Danny Hensley held without bond in the Oct. 21 slaying of Tom Miller. Deputies said the 69-year-old Miller was fatally shot after a security company notified him of a possible intruder at a barn he rented in rural Pataskala.
The Advocate of Newark reports that a judge set the bond for Hensley Tuesday, although he remains jailed.
A 15-year-old boy is also charged in the slaying. The county prosecutor said a decision will be made soon regarding whether to prosecute the teen as an adult.
