YOUNGSTOWN
St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church was the setting of the 2 p.m. July 7 exchange of vows between Stephanie Gilida of Hubbard, and Matthew White of Austintown. The Rev. David Shortt officiated.
A reception was at the Youngstown Club.
Parents of the bride are Richard and Deborah Gilida of Hubbard. The parents of the groom are Philip and Donna White of Collierville, Tenn.
The bride wore an ivory taffeta and lace A-line halter gown with a side drape and beaded lace appliques on the bodice and skirt.
Kristin Steeley, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Naypaver, sister of the bride, and Sarah and Olivia White, sisters of the groom. Julia Hawes, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. The attendants wore watermelon-colored gowns.
Mark Young performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were David Tharp, Jon Frister and Alex Kubli. Jonas Latham, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
The bride graduated summa cum laude with bachelors’ degrees in education and English from Youngstown State University. She earned a master of education degree in school psychology from Kent State University and is studying for an educational specialist degree in school psychology at KSU. She is a school psychology intern for Boardman Local schools.
The groom is a sales agent for Aflac, Boardman. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from YSU.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Austintown.
