Katherine Pylypiak of Macedonia, Ohio, and Benjamin Detwiler of Palo Alto, Calif., were united in marriage March 31 at United Methodist Church of Macedonia.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Kathryn Adams for the daughter of Dennis and Andrea Pylypiak of Macedonia and the son of Samuel and Monica Detwiler of Columbiana. A reception took place at SYB Hall in Stow.

The bride wore a taffeta ball gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves and high back with lace details and a fingertip veil.

Wearing plum dresses were her attendants, maid of honor Alexa Pylypiak, the bride’s sister; and bridesmaids Andrea Detwiler, the groom’s sister; and Joree Jacobs, Lakshmi Rangaswamy, Krista Foster, Ashley Vogel and Kristina Harris.

Timothy Detwiler, the groom’s brother, served as best man. Groomsmen were Garrett Lunger, Ryan Hart, Geoffrey Trees, Brian Bagwell, David Cornich and Mohammad Rameezuddin.

Mrs. Detwiler earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Cleveland State University. She is employed at Los Altos SubAcute and Rehabilitation Center in Los Altos, Calif.

Mr. Detwiler graduated from YSU with bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and accounting and business administration. He is pursuing a master’s degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University.

The couple, who are making their home in Palo Alto, are planning a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in June.
