FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday. This will be the last sale until September.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available. June 8 will be the last sale of the season.

SATURDAY

Lake Milton Presbyterian Church, 942 Grandview Road, will have its annual chicken barbecue and yard sale. The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the meal will be served from noon to 6. The menu includes a half chicken, parsley potatoes, a choice of sides, roll and butter, dessert and a beverage. The donation is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. SUNDAY

VFW Post 2799 will be the site of a homestyle breakfast sponsored by the ladies auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost for adults is $5, and for children 10 and under it’s $3. The menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Vincent United Methodist Church on Walnut Street, Jackson Center, Pa., will have a braised steak dinner at 12:30 p.m. Dinner includes potatoes, salad, vegetable, applesauce, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.

TAKING ORDERS

Happy Hearts Jr. Croatian Tamburitzans are taking orders for homemade apple and cheese strudel through June 17. All strudels are sold frozen and include baking instructions. The cost is $8 each. UPCOMING

Peddler’s Day Committee in Hanoverton will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. June 16 at the Ruritan Building on Second Street in Hanoverton. The dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Peddler’s Day celebration scheduled for July 14 and 15.

Southington United Methodist Church, 4348 Smith-Nelson Road, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. June 6. The meal consists of a quarter chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and dessert. Prices are $8 for adults, $4 for chicken tenders meals for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and under. Carryouts will be available; call 330-898-2156.
