4 students expelled over bomb threats

READING, Pa. (AP) — Four Pennsylvania students have been expelled for their roles in a recent series of bogus bomb threats at junior and senior high schools in Reading.

The Exeter School District board approved the expulsions in a unanimous vote Tuesday but did not reveal the names of the students. The expulsions followed individual hearings last week for the students.

All four students, a 14-year-old and three 15-year-olds, had been suspended from school in the wake of bomb threats at the high school April 27 and May 3 and at the junior high May 4. Another threat at the high school, on April 25, remains unsolved.

Despite the expulsions, the district will remain financially responsible for alternative education for the students. They may apply for re-admission in a year.
